Davidson County is the oldest county in central Tennessee (c. 1783) and its beauty rivals some of the best spots in the state. With the Cumberland River continually snaking through the county, it has quickly become a must-live place. A lot of government history has taken place to keep Davidson County and Nashville, the great county and city icons of today. After many contentious council meetings, the end result was the city of Nashville and Davidson County merging into the “Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County,” or fondly known as “Metro Nashville.”
